PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Master of Theology (ThM) in Biblical Theology at Aidan University is a 95-unit program designed for students who seek theological depth and vocational readiness—whether to teach at the graduate level without pursuing a doctoral degree or to lead ministries shaped by mature, biblically grounded formation. It is ideal for those called to train others, develop curriculum, or shepherd communities with theological clarity and spiritual integrity.
Unlike the MA in Biblical Theology, the ThM integrates applied biblical theology throughout the curriculum—bridging rigorous exegesis with practical ministry expression. Students engage the full redemptive arc of Scripture through a narrative lens, interpreting each text within the unfolding story of God’s covenantal work. Original language study in Greek and Hebrew sharpens exegetical precision, while courses in prayer, mission, and ministry praxis cultivate spiritual maturity and vocational clarity.
Each term pairs theological exploration with hands-on application, forming scholar-practitioners who embody the truths they study. This is a degree for those who not only teach truth, but train others to live it.
Estimated time to complete: Approximately 2 years, 11 months (7-month thesis)

GRADUATE STUDIES
Graduate work in the School of Biblical, Theological, and Ministerial Studies at Aidan University is designed to equip students with both theological depth and vocational clarity through two distinct academic pathways.
The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies offers a rigorous foundation in biblical interpretation and theological coherence, providing essential preparation for ministry leaders who may or may not later specialize through the Master of Ministry program.
Parallel to this, the Master of Arts in Biblical Theology offers advanced training in canonical synthesis and doctrinal development, laying the foundation for further scholarly engagement in the Th.M. in Biblical Theology.
A graduate degree from Aidan enables students to serve as pastors, teachers, ministry directors, and theological leaders—bringing clarity, conviction, and spiritual maturity to the church and its mission.
GRADUATE PREREQUISITE POLICY
Graduate Foundation Series
Students entering the Aidan University Graduate Program who have not completed the undergraduate Foundation Series will be required to take the following three graduate-level preparatory courses that will provide a vital foundation—academically, theologically, and spiritually—upon which the graduate experience is built.
FS501 – Introduction to Study at Aidan University: Learning with Formation (Graduate Level)
FS502 – Graduate Foundations in Scripture and Theology: Reading, Reflecting, and Reigning
FS503 – Graduate Foundations in Church and Ministry: Legacy, Vocation, and Faithful Presence
Basic Bible Knowledge Exam
All graduate candidates are required to take a Basic Bible Knowledge Exam. A minimum score of 80% is required on both the Old Testament and New Testament sections. Candidates who do not meet this threshold must complete the corresponding Bible survey course for the section they did not pass. This course will be considered remedial and will not count toward the total units required for the graduate degree.
