PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Master of Arts in Christian Counseling program equips you to integrate the timeless truths of Christian faith with established psychological theory and therapeutic techniques. Designed for those called to a ministry of healing, this program will provide the professional competency and spiritual grounding necessary to address complex emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges.

You’ll gain the advanced skills to offer effective, biblically-informed counsel in diverse settings, including churches, private practices, and non-profit organizations. We focus on developing compassionate, ethical leaders prepared to restore individuals, strengthen families, and transform communities through the power of Christ-centered care.

Key focus areas:
  • Integrated Therapy: Master the art of combining evidence-based counseling methods with theological wisdom.

  • Developing Care Ministries: Learn to design, manage, and lead people-helping ministries within a church, parachurch, or non-profit setting.
  • Personal and Spiritual Formation: Deepen your own faith journey to serve as a well-equipped, Christ-like counselor.

PROGRAM PREREQUISITES

Admission to the Graduate School of Christian Counseling requires that students have earned an undergraduate degree with a major or minor in a related field, such as counseling or psychology. Students who enroll in this degree program with a non-counseling degree will need to complete an additional twelve (12) semester hours of Christian Counseling courses as part of the degree program.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The degree in Christian Counseling does not qualify the student to sit for the State licensure exam. However, it does qualify one with this degree who has clergy status (Commissioned, Licensed or Ordained) to operate a Christian Counseling ministry under Florida Statutes Title XXXII, Chapter 491-014 Exemption, and to use the title “Christian Counselor”. See the following website: www.flsenate.gov/statutes. For states other than Florida, please review the appropriate statues and requirements for your state.

Transform your passion for caring into a vocation of healing and wholeness.
