PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The ThD in Biblical Theology is a research-intensive program designed for students who seek to trace the unified redemptive narrative of Scripture with theological depth, canonical precision, and vocational clarity.

Through six advanced seminars, students explore foundational biblical themes—temple and kingdom, seed and serpent, posture, persona, and purpose—each culminating in Christ and extending through the ekklesia toward eschatological fulfillment.

The program emphasizes methodological rigor in canonical hermeneutics, equipping students to interpret Scripture as a coherent theological whole.

The final dissertation seminar guides students in producing an original, publishable contribution to the field, demonstrating mastery of biblical theology and its implications for worship, witness, and communal life.

Students who pursue this degree are often called to serve as theological educators, institutional leaders, or ecclesial practitioners who shape the church’s understanding of identity, mission, and formation.

Estimated time to complete: Approximately 2 years, 10 months (12-month thesis)

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Graduates emerge prepared to teach, write, and lead with clarity and conviction, bearing witness to the restorative arc of God’s design for creation.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Postgraduate studies in the School of Biblical, Theological, and Ministerial Studies at Aidan University are designed for scholar-practitioners and theological leaders who seek to make enduring contributions to the church and academy.

Students choose postgraduate study at Aidan to deepen their theological voice, refine their vocational clarity, and produce work that equips them to teach, publish, lead, and shape the spiritual imagination of future generations.

These advanced programs build upon graduate foundations and invite students into rigorous, formative engagement with Scripture, doctrine, and ministry.

Unlike undergraduate and graduate programs, all doctoral seminars are taken one per 15-week term, allowing for sustained immersion, scholarly depth, and vocational integration.

The combination of five doctoral seminars can be completed in eighteen months, with the dissertation seminar estimated to be one full year to complete.

Whether pursuing scholarly research, ecclesial leadership, or theological synthesis, postgraduate students at Aidan are equipped to think biblically, write theologically, and lead formationally in service to God’s mission.
